Children's Ministry-Nikki Hunt-In the wild and crazy world of Children's Ministry, you'll have a blast sharing Christ's love with kids. Join us for a speedwalk through the in’s and out’s of the world of ministering to kids. You'll learn about teaching kids birth through 5th grade, recruiting and appreciating volunteers, organizing a special event, planning VBS, choosing curriculum, ministering to people of all ages (kids, teen and adult volunteers, and parents), and hopefully TONS more.

Counseling-Jack Holland-The Christian Care and Counseling workshop will give students an important introduction into conducting helpful conversations in critical life situations. The learning approach will have students practicing the skills in role-play scenarios. Jack Holland, assistant professor of Christian Care and Counseling at Emmanuel School of Religion, will teach this workshop.

Enriching Personal Relationship w/God-Kit Dotson-Fasting, prayer, silence, solitude are all forms of worship, however, these disciplines never seem to take priority in our lives. This workshop will show you how to grow your relationship with Christ and how to listen for God’s voice.  Kit Dotson, Student Minister, Crossroads Christian Church, Gray, TN, will show you how these ancient practices will help you alter your life-as-usual and to see more of God’s work of grace in your life.  Kit will introduce you to well known Christian authors on spiritual disciplines and he will share from his personal experiences over the last 17 years of ministry.

Leadership-Curtis Booher-Are leaders made or are they born? While there may be some truth to the phrase "natural born leader," many skills can be learned and developed that will enable anyone to become a better leader. These skills will be taught during this workshop along with a look at a variety of leadership styles. Students determine which style is the best fit for them. The workshop leader is Curtis Booher, Assistant Professor of Bible and Christian Ministries, Milligan College.

Missions-Tim Ross-Me? A missionary? Do I have what it takes? What does it take? Tim Ross, veteran church planter in Africa and minister at the Hopwood Christian Church, Milligan College, will lead the mission ministry skill workshop. Workshop topics include: preparation for a life of service, finding the right fit, and teamwork in missions.

Youth Ministry-Brian Talty-As a teen yourself, is it fair to say God has is shaping you?  Then it is likely that he has shaped you in your teen years through the hands of adults committed to you through youth ministry. Paul says to the Corinthian church, “For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself.” Youth Ministry is your opportunity to pass on to other teens that which you have received.  Together we’ll explore the opportunities we have, the skills needed and the expectations for you in Youth Ministry.

Brian Talty has served in youth ministry for eight years.  He currently serves as the Youth Minister of First Christian Church and the Instructor of Youth Ministry for Life Central Bible Institute in Decatur, Illinois.

Visual Arts-AJ & Cynthia Viola-Have you ever been bored by a worship experience? Or, have you ever been in a church singing a song and the lyrics came up on the screen just after the line was sung? Or watching a video that was key to the main sermon idea and the sound went out? Visual Arts can make or break a worship experience. It is unacceptable to lead the people of God in worship or teaching and have them walk away bored by who God is. God is not boring and he did not create boring people. This workshop is meant to challenge your creativity. We will discuss very practical aspects of visual arts in worship, as well as stir your imagination for what worship can be and how God wants to use YOU in leading his people.

Worship-Marc Imboden-The worship workshop will explore all the aspects of worship, going way beyond music. We'll examine the idea that worship is more of "A Kiss Towards” -- the giving of our affection to God. Students can expect to explore new ways of expressing worship, including writing, the arts, music, drama, and service. Marc Imboden is a Worship Leader and song writer from Indianapolis who has been leading congregations all over the country in worship and concert for over 15 years. Click here to visit MarcImboden.com

Performing Arts & Storytelling-Tommy Oaks and Jt- So, you like to tell stories? And you would like to use your performing talents in the church? You could search a lifetime and never find two instructors like Tommy Oaks and John Thomas Oaks. They combine their love of Bible and Christian stories, along with music, acting, and tons of fun to tell the Gospel story in ways that entertain, teach, and draw their audience closer to God. Learn more about Tommy and Jt on Facebook.

Preaching-David Robinson-Challenging - convicting - encouraging - piercing - inspiring - practical - life changing. Preaching can, at times, be all of these. So what makes a message good or bad? Students who choose preaching as their ministry skill will learn the basic principles of preaching and the practical steps for developing and delivering sermons. The preaching workshop will be lead by David Robinson. David is the Lead Pastor at Community Christian Church in Baltimore, Maryland. Formerly, David was the Student Ministry team leader and Preaching Associate for Mountain Christian Church in Joppa, MD, where he has served for the last 12 years.

Church Planting-David Robinson w/AJ & Cynthia Viola- Leading church growth writer C. Peter Wagner says “Church Planting is the most effective evangelistic strategy under heaven.” It all began with the apostles, Peter and Paul, and it continues today—Church Planting. How does a new church get started? What’s involved? Would God call YOU to help establish a new church?
